Top Trend 2017: Kale Color
Pantone, the global authority and trend-setter on colors, has announced Kale (18-0107) as one of the top colors for year 2017. We have tried to figure out how this beautiful saturated color can be used in interior design and what famous world brands can already offer for this season. We’d be pleased to share the result with you!
For a start we’d like to say that this color looks marvelous both in bedrooms and living rooms, as well as kitchens and bathrooms. When it comes to wall finishing, the color of leaf cabbage may occupy the whole wall or just serve as an accent, for instance, in the headboard zone. Especially natural look can be created by means of wallpaper with watercolor brushstrokes or fern pattern – thus you can “plant” a true winter garden right on your walls.
Cabinet furniture of kale color creates a perfect match for neutral light and brownish hues and especially for natural wood surfaces – this color seems to be made for eco-design.
Certainly, plenty of kale arm-chairs and sofas can be already found in collections of popular brands. Like this splendid sofa by German brand Brühl & Sippold, Italian furniture by Fendi Casa and Pedrali Log ottomans. And surely there is plenty of kale upholstered furniture by other manufacturers.
The best choice for bedrooms is kale headboard upholstery. Still, there are cheaper and easier alternatives, like bed linen, blinds or decorative pillows. The English manufacturer Sanderson has already presented something of this kind in its new collection Waterperry.
Kale color in kitchen interiors is something to fall in love with. Cabinets of this color will perfectly blend with warm wood shades and copper or brass fixtures.
And if your current kitchen color satisfies you fully, you may just get some kale tableware. Take a look at an outstanding Italian brand Cosi Tabellini or a French luxury porcelain manufacturer - Haviland & Parlon. And a French china set by Gien would impress the most demanding buyers.
In bathroom interior the color of leaf cabbage is optional for wall tiles, wash basin cabinets, bathtubs and shower curtains. The feeling that you are somewhere in a mountain lake or under a forest waterfall is guaranteed!
And if you prefer to refresh something small, like bathroom accessories, for example, consider kale bowls or liquid soap dispensers. Possibly, by American brand Emissary or English Guaxs.
And of course we must mention décor - beautiful kale artworks, wall panels and accessories. And don’t forget about indoor plants – they can definitely enhance the sense of wild nature created by kale. Flower pots can even be painted in this beautiful color.
