“Nocturne”: Discreet Luxury of Dark Home Textile
Colors and shapes of our interiors and home décor decide a lot of our mood, as home is the place where we must feel safe and comfortable. In particular, pretty much depends on our home textile – in fact, its role in setting the mood is enormous: not only we see it, but also touch, and tactile feelings are even stronger than visual.
What comes to your mind when you try to imagine a collection of home textile named “Nocturne” (from the French “nighttime”)? Probably, reserved, somewhat muted colors, filled with melancholy and romantics and arranged in smooth lines of drapery. Their notes seem to be created for relaxation and catching one’s breath after a long hard day.
That’s exactly the concept which laid the foundation of a new collection of home textile by Togas brand. Its history is almost 100 years of expertise in creating natural, luxurious, bespoke, elegant and stylish interior textile. So, let’s see what their “nighttime” collection can say.
The color scheme of “Nocturne” is based on elegant, muffled hues creating the sense of twilight. Deep shades of saturated greenery, mahogany, blue lapis lazuli and tin are highlighted by citrine, rose tourmaline and green metallic accents.
Magical feel of complicated dark hues is becoming increasingly popular among interior designers, and “Nocturne” collection goes in line with this trend, giving a chance to dive into the charming world of romantics and discreet luxury.
Night is the time of romantics, time for dreaming, thinking and enjoying the silence of nature unburdened by daytime vanity. This is exactly what the pattern of the new bed linen is intended to say. The centerpiece of the composition is roses and peonies in pearlescent hues of grayish pink color range against a noble dark blue background. And peony is the flower symbolizing love and beauty.
But it wasn’t just magic of the nighttime atmosphere that inspired the designers. Their one more source of inspiration was masterpieces of Flemish art of the 16th century.
