New Concept Store by Alcantara Opened in Milan
The world’s most stylish city of Milan has recently celebrated the opening of a new concept show room by Alcantara S.p.A. It is ideally located in a downtown shopping area on the corner of the streets via San Pietro all’Orto and via Verri. It was therefore no surprise that during the Salone del Mobile in early April there was no end of interest from visitors who wished to see and touch the material gaining so much popularity around the globe.
We already know about Alcantara fabrics and its amazing characteristics from our previous post. As you remember, this material is widely used in versatile industries: from air-plane and automobile production to fashion clothes, jewellery and accessories. However, in the new concept store the brand focused on their latest collections meant for the world of interior design. And just like the primary products of Alcantara – upholstery textile for cars, yachts and air-planes – are associated with ultimately comfortable travelling, their interior fabrics seem to be inviting for comfortable rest.
In fact, the three pillars that the collection is based on are comfort, Greek mythology and iconic pieces embodying Italian elegancy and designed by such companies as Minotti, Molteni, Eumenes and La Palma. From these very sources the German designer Sebastian Herkner drew his inspiration. And now Alcantara S.p.A. is placed on an equal footing with these famous names and represents its new Wanderlust collection dedicated to the world of interiors. Here you will find a bold mixture of styles: contemporary design with a drop of eclectics gave birth to something surrealistic that you would like to spend much time watching.
As for fashion looks displayed around the store, they are a fruit of job of a famous designer and artist Rebecca Moses, who has worked out a collection of clothes especially for the Alcantara brand. According to Rebecca, every mannequin has distinctive tastes and life-style and is definitely unique. This way both the author and the producer would like to emphasize that products made from Alcantara will have fans among people with absolutely different wants and needs. But the key idea is, of course, to show the exclusive universality of the material in its multiple applications.
